The Achievement of Excellence in Procurement (AEP) Committee is pleased to present several agency best practices based on the 2009 AEP application. The Best Practices are intended to demonstrate benchmarks achieved by successful AEP applicants. There is no pre-defined way to achieve success for individual criterion and these examples are to be used only for informational purposes in order for government procurement offices to assess what other agencies are doing to improve operations. It is important for you to note:
The listed applicants were successful; however, each agency’s score is confidential and will not be released.
You should carefully review what was submitted by each agency in their 2009 submission against the requirements for each item and make qualification decisions for yourself before submittal.
Successful submission to qualify for a particular criterion may have been adequate for the 2009 application, but may not qualify for the 2010 or subsequent applications. Criteria submittal requirements change annually.
Don’t hesitate to contact any committee member for specific questions you may have. The committee is posted on www.npiconnection.com
Good Luck – If this will be your first application, you have reached for a new level of excellence and if you have been successful in the past, reaching for new benchmarks and best practices will bolster your status of excellence.
